Our scandinavian clients could not believe the landscape.. Yes, we are in Planet Mars! The train itself is part of the experience – you travel in the original…, bright yellow carriages, some open and some closed, with wooden floors and benches, whose backs tilt forward or back, so you don’t have to move seats when the train changes direction to come back again. Be warned – it’ s a rattly, bumpy ride; this is the real thing, as these carriages were used to transport workers from Huelva to work in the mines decades ago. In those days, there were 143 engines in use, all but six British-made between 1874 and 1954; The train ride leaves from a station next to some old warehouses, about 3km from Rio Tinto itself. The platform where you get on the train is reached by going down a long flight of steps (no ramp). The train follows the circuitous route of the river, passing through some former stations. There’s plenty to see – old locomotives and trucks, washing factories, storage tanks, pulleys and lifts, and various other equipment and machinery. The lunar landscape itself is extraordinary – mostly bare of vegetation, with reddish, golden, brown rounded mounds and peaks, craters, escarpments and ledges, all set against an azure-blue sky.

Apartments Costa Luz organized the first Golf Competition at Costa Esuri Golf Club. All our swedish guests had a lovely day. A great course for greats guests! For the first time, Apartments Costa Luz organized a great competition in Costa Esuri Golf Club. It was such a nice day of golf and Paella. A great chance to spend a few hours with our clients, who are already good friends. They tell us stories about their country, about the golf improvemments and about their stay in Hueva. They like the area more and more year after year, and we are all happy to have them around for a few months. Please come back next season!

A bus collected them in our hall and took them to Oceanico Victoria Golf Club in Vilamoura. They are all extremelly happy with the day they spent there. Incredible atmosphere full of good golf, good company, great sun and fantastic food. They came back to Punta Umbría late, but happy and excited for a lovely day and a great experience.

A total of 40 birdwatchers from England and Canada who stayed at CostaLuz Apartments for a few days could visit the north of Huelva to watch the black Vulture and the lack stork. It was an incredible trip full of surprises. Read more here.
