The Natural Heritage of huelva province is amongst the richest, and Punta Umbria is situated close to different Protected Natural Spaces, emblematic places of the landscapes of Huelva province and its natural diversity.
With no doubt, the big variety of bird species, with more than 400 different species possible to watch during a year, with lots of rare species. From the black vulture in Sierra Pelada with the main European nesting colony, to the great and little bustards with small numbers but still possible to observe in Andévalo countryside and ocasionalmente in Doñana (little bustard), or the black stork, marbled teal, white-headed duck, ferruginous duck, ospreys, Spanish Imperial Eagle, black shouldered kite, cranes and many species of interest….
Also we have to mention the iberian lynx, with one of both main population of the most endangered cat in the world! And of course, the vegetation is part of the most diverse European flora: the Andalusian plants diversity reaches around 4500 species and represents 75 % of the Iberian diversity. In Huelva province there are above 1700 species and few f them are extremely endemic, such as species of the peat land, or also prickly Juniper (Juniperus oxycedrus subsp. Macrocarpa), Linaría lamarckii and Linaria tursica being part of our dunar landscapes, unic and really beautiful!
